UCO ROUTE

The Route of Used Cooking Oils is a project which promotes the collection of used cooking oils and their conversion into biodiesel assuming the following objectives:

  • Reduce the amount of used cooking oils introduced into the drainage systems and wastewater treatment;
  • Used cooking oils recycling to produce biodiesel and other products;
  • Implement the biofuels consumption and reduce the CO2 emissions associated with the transport.

This project developed in partnership with the Municipalities of the area of intervention of the ENA (Palmela, Sesimbra and Setúbal) began to be addressed to schools having been extended to other public places in a second phase (click for public points location) through signed protocols which ENA is presently responsible for the UCO collecting systems management in Palmela, Sesimbra and Setúbal Municipalities.

In any case the work done with the schools in order to educate future generations on the importance of the used cooking oil valorization remains. Find out the entire project in http://oau.ena.com.pt
