ENA is a private non-profit association, created in 2006, that encourages the extensive adoption of environment and energy best practices and solutions in its territory, promoting behaviour change and efficient resource use habits in the pursuit of secure and equal energy access and low-carbon economic development, in order to create a truly sustainable energy and environmental culture.
Located in the Setúbal Peninsula, its intervention area considers the municipalities of Palmela, Setúbal and Sesimbra, implementing projects with impacts on the energy, environment, economy, socio-demography of the territory, in a region that combines industrial activity and technology, handicraft, tourism , forest, agriculture and natural protected areas.
Through technical activities, research and cooperation projects, awareness campaigns, information and training, ENA brings investment and innovation into its territory, provides knowledge and advice to municipalities, public and private entities, associations, industry, technology centers, universities, school population and citizens.
ENA participates actively in RNAE - National Network of Energy and Environment Agencies (www.rnae.pt) and is member of the Energy Cities, participating in the elaboration and discussion of international and national policies and strategies in the areas of environment and energy, as well as specific cooperation projects. Since 2006, ENA has been working on several European, national and local projects, establishing partnerships and developing activities that contribute with important know-how and experience.
